Great for camping or for emergency preparedness. This lantern great. It requires three size "C" batteries, not included. It has three settings. Low, high and emergency flashers. We really got to use it for the first time when our power went out. On high our living room and kitchen looked like daylight. Well like around 10am sun, before it gets all super squint your eyes bright. On low we still had light for both rooms. The Flasher's obviously we didn't use. If you want a duller light, you can remove the cover. To achieve that softer look. Also another cool feature is on the bottom there is a book. This is so you can hang it upside down in your tent for an overhead light.

Would I recommend it. Yes it's super bright, not too heavy.

  1. That would also be great to have in your vehicle for emergencies since it has flashers. Great for many occasions actually, as in camping, when the electricity goes out and so on. Much safer than candles that can be knocked off and causing a fire! Sounds pretty awesome.
